Opportunities
to Volunteer
Volunteers are important to our work at ACGA our goals couldn’t
be accomplished without the dedicated help of our members.
If you have an hour or an afternoon, we would love to have
you work with us on some of our projects. Volunteer opportunities
include:
- Writing articles for E-news or the magazine
- helping to organize a fund-raising run – and maybe
running or walking yourself
- doing office work – lots of opportunities here
- becoming a friendly visitor
- working a casino
- joining a phone committee
- making items for the silent auction – art work,
a handmade quilt, etc.
Not only will you be helping your organization in reaching
its goals on behalf of all caregivers, but you will be enjoying
a pleasant activity yourself. We all need a break –
we wouldn’t expect a hockey player to stay on the ice
for the whole game, would we? But caregivers are “on
duty” from dawn to dusk without taking intermissions.
Without breaks, we begin to experience fatigue and then we
are risking our own health.
From time to time, we’ll bring you all together at a
volunteer appreciation event and treat you like the valued
participants that you are!
